The Waterlooplein Market
The Waterlooplein market is the largest flea market in the Netherlands, and is situated right next to the Amsterdam City Hall. It’s also walking distance to the Rembrandt House Museum and the Dutch National Opera & Ballet.
This flea market was established all the way back in 1885 and was originally open every day of the week except for Saturday. Now though, it operates Monday-Saturday, with Sunday being the off day.
The market is home to over 300 stalls and each has something different and unique to offer from second-hand clothes, to books, and just about everything in between. You can also find a series of yummy treats to try while you browse.
NEMO’s Roof
NEMO’s Roof is a favorite spot for locals, and has been a major tourist attraction as well. NEMO is a science museum, but the roof is home to the largest rooftop terrace in all of Amsterdam. It provides visitors with a magnificent view of the city center at 22 meters above sea level.
The rooftop terrace is truly a gem of Amsterdam and you shouldn’t leave the city without making time for a stop here.
